Takeaway pickup notifications

The food is up. The guest is not standing in the doorway. They need one message, not a drip of marketing texts.

The waterfall

After they pay, guests land on a live tracking page. That is the default screen — not a paper docket they lose in the car. When you mark the order ready, Takezi pings once. WhatsApp if they have it. SMS as backup. The tracking page updates either way.

Why one ping

A takeaway shop does not need a welcome series. Guests already know they ordered. They need to know when to come back. One ready ping keeps the doorway clear and the phone free. Staff tap ready on takezi.app. That is the whole staff motion.

WhatsApp and SMS in Australia

Most Australian mobiles have WhatsApp. It is the cheaper path, so we try it first when we can. SMS is the backup so a guest without WhatsApp still gets the bag. Plans include a monthly allowance. Extra SMS after the cap is about 5 cents. Page orders are unlimited — you are not paying per serve.

No guest app

Notifications do not require a download. The tracking page lives in the browser they already opened when they scanned the QR. If they lock the phone, WhatsApp or SMS still lands. That is the point of the waterfall.

What this is not

It is not a consumer waitlist. It is not a blast to last week's customers. It is not a marketplace chat. It is a pickup queue with one ready ping, for shops anywhere in Australia.
